Local Corporate Team competes in 2009 WTT Nationals
The WTT National Championships were held at the Indian Wells
Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, from October 30 through November 1,
2009. Two members of Tri-City Fitness, Sue Hauber and George Schlottner
were on the team. The weekend kicked off for the tournament participants with a
Wilson clinic hosted by tennis legend and WTT co-founder Billie Jean King.
3.5 Corporate team, GE Energy, competed and finished 3rd
with a 2-2 round robin record. Playing on the GE Energy team was, Captain, George
Schlottner, Andy Bartell, Tom Gadomski, Boris Russ, Sue Hauber and
Donna Casso.
Player Sue Hauber is a Tri-City Fitness member and takes
instruction from Head Pro, Billy Ciejka and Pro Andy Schechter.

For the next 15 days, through Saturday, Dec. 12, the Times Union will introduce its high school all-stars for fall sports.
First up is tennis.
First team (singles)
Cat Crummey, So., Shaker: Won Section II championship without dropping a set despite coming in as the No. 5 seed. Coach Gerry Cuva: “Cat is very good at making the proper adjustments against her opponent during a match.” Amanda Rosati, Jr., Holy Names: Undefeated at No. 1 singles, led team to Colonial Council championship, reached Section II final. Coach Dee Marie Fallati: “Amanda was a deserving recipient of our most valuable player award.”
9.22.09 Congratulations to Nolan Carl, who won the mid-September Junior Singles Event at Tri-City! Thank you to everyone who participated; the competition was tight and all the players had fun.
